Custom Cost Properties
Custom costs are special labor-only construction units. A custom cost is defined by the following properties.
- Name - the unique name of the custom cost.
- Cost - the cost of the item.
- Type - the general classification that describes the nature of the custom cost (such as Fees, Permits, Services, or the like). Cost types consist of various cost categories.
- Category - the specific category that applies to the custom cost. Categories are subdivisions of types.
- Description - the description of the custom cost.
The New Custom Cost dialog box is used to supply values for these properties when the item is created. This dialog box also provides access to a customized dialog box for additional custom cost attributes if your company has defined a set of custom attributes for custom costs.
The properties of an existing custom cost are displayed in the Custom Cost Properties dialog box.
